Our Trip to Almonte Ottawa and Quebec City

Thanks for your wonderful and effectual prayers. Elsie and I had a really good time of ministry in Almonte and then with a TACF team doing a Soaking Weekend in Quebec City.

In Almonte, we ministered in two meetings at a small Partners In Harvest church pastored by our friends Steve and Jackie. Elsie prophesied over a number of folks – in fact over everyone at the second meeting. I shared my Peniel message and then on discovering the Father Heart of God. Our ministry was well received and many of the folks there were touched by the love of God and the presence of Holy Spirit. One lady told us after the ministry time was over that she had never been “slain in the Spirit” before and she had wanted to be. For her, it meant a closer experience of God… so he gave it to her. She felt a weighty hand on her head… I promise we didn’t push her!

In Ottawa, we spent a few hours visiting our friends at the National House of Prayer. What a strategic mission that is! They have access to the governmental leadership of our nation as well as mentoring the body of Christ in Canada in the area of intercession for the nation. I don’t know of a more well-placed ministry dedicated to praying for pivotal issues that affect the destiny of Canada. And they happen to be a classy bunch too!

We also had a fun, “behind the scenes” tour of Parliament Hill by the daughter of our friend in Ottawa. We also took the official tour and it was good to learn some more about the history of our nation and the way our government works. More fodder for intercession.

In Quebec City, we did a Catch The Fire Soaking Weekend with three others who came up from Toronto. It was a jam packed weekend at a church that was re-opening itself to renewal. Apparently, it was also the first time that CTF was doing a Soaking Weekend in the province of Quebec! We all feel that God is about to do something great in Quebec and so this was a privileged trip.

There were about 60-70 people in attendance from various churches and they were all hungry and ready to receive. On the last day of the event, there were several testimonies of new and deeper experiences with the Lord. It was wonderful to hear just how God met his children, for some in simple ways, for others in quite profound and life transformational ways. I am still amazed that we would show up, do our little piddly thing and God through us (and often in spite of us) touches his people’s hearts and lives in radical and life changing ways, far beyond what we could ever do with our training, experience and abilities. I love it! One of my favourite scriptures right now is Psalm 131, a psalm of David:

LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvellous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore.

After years of studying the scriptures, attending seminary and reading tons of books (many of them really good ones) I’ve come to the conclusion that learning to be attentive to the voice of the Spirit, positioning myself with the heart attitude of a baby cradled in my Heavenly Mother’s embrace, drinking from God’s life flow AND STAYING THERE is the way to go!

We stayed behind to do some prayer ministry on the Sunday at the church and we had a blast! During the service we blessed the children and then we prayed for those in pain. One of the ladies who responded to the word had come to the church for the first time. We prayed for her and she got healed, then she gave her heart to the Lord! Glory Hallelujah!

It was over all a very good eight day trip. Many tasted the love of God in new ways, discovered he was their loving heavenly father, some were healed and one got saved!  I know the angels are rejoicing over that one.

Your prayers are deeply appreciated and had a significant role to play the blessedness of the trip. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

At His breast,

Ramesh and Elsie
